“The outcome will be a web-archive that
explores the role of “in-between & invisible”
Visual Effects artists & the VFX technologies
in the making of cinema and other visual
media. The focus will be on the South-Indian
VFX artists. The research process involves in
visiting studios across multiple cities and
interacting & working with these artists. The
outcome will weave through the multiple
layers of digital labour—the technical & skill
aspects, the software & interface used, the
role of the VFX industry & its adaptation
within the film production, and the freelance
working conditions produced by the Digital
capitalism.”
